Hi! I'm Nicole Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Austin, TX and the owner of Sago Speech Therapy. After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi, I went on to receive my Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University. I currently hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

I'm passionate about providing compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming care for children and their families. Whether your child communicates with spoken language, gestures, AAC, signs, or a combination of methods, my role is to support meaningful communication while honoring their autonomy, sensory needs, and desires.

I have extensive experience working with children of all ages and abilities, helping them develop the communication skills needed to thrive at home, in school, and within their communities. Throughout my career, I've worked with children with:

Speech sound disorders

Receptive & expressive language delays

Autism spectrum disorder

Down syndrome

Augmentative alternative communication

Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Gestalt language processing

Fluency (stuttering)

Oral motor and feeding difficulties

Executive functioning challenges

Auditory processing

Literacy skills

Cochlear implants and hearing loss

As a therapist, I believe parents are one of the most important members of a child's therapy team. I value open communication, education, and collaboration so families feel confident supporting their child's communication beyond our sessions.
